"Being Muslim in Australia:
Living in a multi-Religious Western Society"

As a brief overview of the lecture, Professor Saeed will broadly cover the following:

• Brief overview of Islam and Muslims in Australia
• Aspects of Muslim community building in the post-1970s (associations, mosques, and educational, cultural, interfaith and economic activities/institutions
• Nature of Australian multiculturalism and social inclusion, and role of Muslims in Australian society
• Debates on being Muslim in the West/Australia. Examples may include: living in a non-Muslim majority context; religion seen in ethical-cultural terms; the law and legal system; and citizenship and full participation in society

MYC crew

Assalaamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh...

Just want to say,
Mabruk to the new AJKs! :D

All praises to Allah SWT... for the chance to meet and know ALL of you.
Syukran jazakumullah to everyone~ for coming to MYC, to be part of the family, sharing all the moments..the ups-and-downs..

Admittedly i own many weakness ^^, by deed or by word, for as long as I've been vice president. Hope all of those can be forgiven..

To 09/10 MYC crew: Thank YOU...for all your efforts, ideas, comments and support. The experience, was indeed, priceless and memorable.

To 10/11 MYC crew: Am hoping a better future ahead..for each and everyone of us to be a better person, a better team..and none can say it better than in words of Allah swt:

MYC 1st AGM

New update from our Lil Miss President:

On our AGM insyaAllah, we will be discussing our future plans and we are opening up positions for some AJK positions. Aaaaand also, insyaAllah we'll celebrate MYC's first birthday :D Well, not exactly one whole year already but yeah, we just wanna celebrate this baby year, cos it has been guhreattt. Alhamdulillah :)

InsyaAllah there will be food ;)

2nd last and 'The Last Meet' of 09/10 session

Assalaamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh...

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, am not exactly the person who's time 'diberkati' ;)

Anyhoo, let's not drag too much. InsyaAllah in God's will, we will have a session later at 4.30pm, usual place. Just a short one but let's make it worthwhile, yes? Hehe. And next week, we'll have our last session of this semester, because apparently we all will be having our revision week the week after and our long awaited exams after that xD

Next week, Wednesday at 2.30pm, usual place. InsyaAllah in God's will. Please do come to this session as we will wrap up everything we've done for this year (2009/2010 session) and will be grateful for feedback and suggestions during the sharing session. An AGM of our own ;)

FYI there's a new book stall inside the Giant building, next to Guardian, and it's selling Raheeq Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar), English tafseers and other great writings. Have a visit or two (or three or four.... ) :D
